Paper Dolls
I recently had a request for scans of the cardboard character models Mattel used to use to showcase the outfits in the fashion packs. Ask and ye shall receive -- even if it takes a while sometimes! The great thing about these models is that they can also be used as paper dolls. (Well, so long as you don't mind that your dolls are footless.) And since Mattel has yet to officially release MH paper dolls, these are certainly the next best thing. Here are scans of the ones I have.
We'll start with Frankie because she's awesome and beautiful.
Sometimes they also use these cardboard models to showcase playsets, so buyers can get a rough idea of what an actual doll will look like with the set. Here's Frankie going voltageous in front of her vanity.
I really love the look they've been using for Frankie's box art representations for the past year or so. She always looks maniacally happy to the point of being demented. And yet still gorgeous!
Next we have Clawdeen...
I especially like this one since, as far as I'm aware, this "look" hasn't been used for her since.
Scaris Clawdeen -- expect big things on my year-end countdown in December!
Lagoona never leaves me "blue". I know, terrible.
Draculaura always looks so cute in her drawings! Too bad this doesn't always translate to her dolls.
And a few single hits, but they're all primo...
Adorkable.
Fiercely frigid Abbey.
We need more Spectra models! It really is a shame Mattel isn't using these in the FPs anymore.
Unfortunately I can't find my Operetta model, so I had to use my partial scan from last year's character spotlight. Sadface.
And we end on a high note -- Rochelle! We never got a FP model of her but at least we have this one from the Scaris Car.
I'd like to dedicate this post to my fellow ephemerites. Paper goods -- so fun, so cool, so collectible.
PS: If you're a really big dork like I am these can be printed off on thick stock paper (or thin stock then laminated) and used as bookmarks. There's no reason why your copy of The Peripatetic Coffin can't be fiercely fabulous in between reading sessions!

Photo Set: Ghoul's Day Out Starring Rochelle Goyle
Why the possessive in the "ghoul's" of the post title? Because we're only looking at one ghoul today. That said, one ghoul does not mean one doll...
Lovely to see you, Rochelle! Your outfit -- which I love, by the way -- looks a little "sassier" than the clothes you usually wear. It's a nice change for you!
I've always felt you have such a sweet, friendly facial expression; you make Lagoona look angry by comparison! Your GNO look is probably the closest you're ever gonna get to fierce, and even then it's a stretch.
Mm-hmm, work those fleur-de-lis heels, girl! Say, I wonder who else is around here?
Oh, nobody I guess. But damn, Rochelle, that sure was a quick change! You related to Superman or something? Wow, I love your eyeshadow -- aqua is definitely your color! I must say, something about you looks a little more "monster-y" than usual. I like it!
Okay, now you're just goofing off!
Yes, I definitely like this look on you -- very nice. You look so serene.
The bun really emphasizes your endearingly shy personality. J'adore!
Another change! I can't keep up!
You got a haircut! If you ask me, this is easily your best 'do to date. Very chic. Digging your shades, too!
Did you get them at the same store Briar shops at? They remind me a lot of hers.
Yeah, your beach bag's cool I suppose. It's really hard for me to focus on it because I'm still freaking out over your amazing hair! Yes, your swimsuit is pretty wicked, too. The detailing on the bodice is just so you, Rochelle. You have great taste!
Now that Mattel has decided the quality of Cleo's hair should be variable from doll to doll, you've become my go-to girl for dependably fab tresses, Rochelle. Hope it stays that way!
Since you're here anyway, readers, how about a little box art...
Today's post may be a teaser of things to come...
